Section 10
When something goes wrong
Things will sometimes not work as expected. That is normal, and almost always easy to fix.
“It didn’t understand me.”
Try saying it a different way, or add a little more detail. Instead of “Remind me,” say “Remind me to take my pills at 8 tomorrow morning.”
“The answer is too long or confusing.”
Say “Please make that shorter” or “Explain that like I’m new to this.”
“The words are too small.”
Use the text-size buttons at the top of this page. On many computers, holding the Ctrl key and pressing + makes things bigger. On a Mac, use the Command key.
“Nothing happens when I press send.”
- Check that you are connected to the internet (Wi-Fi).
- Wait a moment. Sometimes answers take a few seconds.
- Close the app or page and open it again.
- If it still does not work, call your family helper.
“I didn’t get my reminder.”
Check that notifications are turned on and your sound is not muted. Ask, “What reminders do I have?” If a morning note used to come and then stopped, ask your family to look for the word Paused on that routine.
“It said it couldn’t do something.”
Some things are not available yet, like placing phone calls. Your assistant cannot place phone calls for you yet. It can help you send written messages and emails, and it can remind you to call someone yourself. Others may need a service connected first. Ask, “What would we need to set that up?” and share the answer with your family helper.
“I think it made a mistake.”
AI can sometimes get things wrong. Tell it: “I think that’s not right.” For important matters, such as health, money, and legal papers, always double-check with a trusted person or the official source.
“I pressed something by accident.”
Don’t worry. Say “Stop” or “Cancel that.” Anything important needs your yes first, so accidents rarely cause trouble.
